Women's Volleyball Struggles at Mary Baldwin Tournament

The Eastern Mennonite University women's volleyball team dropped all four of its matches at the Mary Baldwin Tournament held in Staunton, Va. The tournament started on Friday, October 6, and lasted until Saturday, October 7, with Bridgewater College being named the tournament champions.
EMU (5-15) was shut out on Friday against Mary Baldwin and the College of Notre Dame. Junior
Courtney Miller (Harrisonburg, Va.) led the team with 12 kills, 10 digs, and six service aces against Mary Baldwin. Game scores against Mary Baldwin were 30-21, 16-30, 30-32, and 21-30.
Against the College of Notre Dame, EMU was defeated in three games, 19-30, 25-30, and 20-30. Junior
Jamie Morgan (McGaheysville, Va.) had 15 digs in the loss.
On Saturday, the Lady Royals dropped a five game match to Peace College. Game scores were 27-30, 30-23, 30-20, 17-30, and 11-15. Junior
Megan Good (Alberta, Canada) tallied 14 kills while while senior
Lisa Berry (Dalton, Ohio) had 11 kills and four service aces.
The Lady Royals then played Methodist in the second match of the day and fell to the Monarchs in three games. Game scores were 20-30, 24-30, 28-30.
EMU will return home on Tuesday, October 10, for a 6:30 p.m. match with Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponent Lynchburg College.
