Lady Royals drop match 3-0 to Averett

Christy Renegar finished the game with 15 kills and 17 digs for the double-double to lead Averett University over the Eastern Mennonite University women's volleyball team Saturday afternoon in Yoder Arena. Game scores were 30-20, 30-19, and 30-17.
The Lady Royals are now 5-18 overall while Averett improves to 21-5.
Sophomore
Dana Sprowl (Swoope, Va) led EMU with eight kills on the day while senior libiero
Kara Stoltzfus (Parnell, Ia.) had a season high 20 digs in the loss.
Setter
Kristina Zaccaria (Mt. Sidney, Va.) had 21 assists with senior
Lisa Berry (Dalton, Ohio) and junior
Courtney Miller (Harrisonburg, Va.) finishing with 10 and 11 digs respectively.
Samantha Kirby was the other Cougar with double digit kills (11) while Kasey Carpenter tallied 39 assists for AU.
The Lady Royals return to the court on Tuesday, October 17, as they travel to face the Generals of Washington & Lee. The match is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
