EMU Knocks Off Guilford 70-63 in Women's Hoops

Junior guard Tara Jones scored a career-high 22 points to lead Eastern Mennonite University to a 70-63 triumph over Guilford College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C.
Jones (Richmond, Va.) converted 8-of-9 field goals and went 6-for-9 from the free throw line in her 22-point effort. She also had four steals and seven rebounds as EMU (10-4, 6-3 ODAC) held a 45-31 rebounding edge. Senior center Amanda Renalds (Bridgewater, Va.) had 14 points and six boards.
Senior guard Jennifer King (Reidsville, N.C.) matched a career-high with 32 points for GC (3-9, 2-5 ODAC) on 9-of-15 shooting. She went 5-for-9 from the arch and 9-for-11 from the charity stripe while also notching three assists and four steals.
EMU continues its road trip on Sunday with a 4:00 p.m. game at Emory & Henry College.
