EMU Ties Roanoke 0-0 in Women's Soccer

Eastern Mennonite University and Roanoke College battled through double overtime with the game ending in a 0-0 tie in Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon in Harrisonburg, Va.
EMU (2-3-1, 1-0-1 ODAC) had several good looks at the goal and outshot RC (1-2-3, 0-1-1) 11-7 during regulation, but the Lady Royals were unable to connect on any opportunities. EMU finished the contest with 13 shots and four corners. Roanoke had 12 shots and two corners.
Junior Joy Shaiebly (Lancaster, Pa.) made seven saves for EMU and recorded her second shutout of the season. Sophomore Erin Hanson (Blacksburg, Va.) started and collected two saves for the Maroons. Senior Emma Jones (Cary, N.C.) played the final 65 minutes and accumulated six saves. EMU committed 13 fouls compared to nine for RC.
EMU will host Southern Virginia University on Thursday at 4 p.m., with the game scheduled to be broadcast on EMU internet broadcasting.
