Eastern Mennonite University scored three second-half goals to break a 1-1 tie and defeat Emory & Henry College 4-1 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon in Harrisonburg, Va.

With the victory, EMU (8-6-2, 6-3-1 ODAC) holds onto fourth place in the conference standings. The Lady Royals are 3-0-1 in their last four games. EHC (8-7-1, 4-6 ODAC) stays in seventh place.

EMU scored the first goal of the game in the 12th minute when freshman Katie Lamm (Newmanstown, Pa.) received a lead pass, beat the defender, and shot past the keeper for a 1-0 EMU lead. EHC scored the equalizer 12 minutes later when freshman Lena Holz (Greenville, W.Va.) sent a 30 yard shot towards the goal that EMU goalkeeper Joy Shaiebly (Lancaster, Pa.) tapped up in the air and barely allowed to cross the goal line. EMU has several other strong looks at the goal and accumulated 16 shots in the first half, but the teams entered the break tied 1-1.

The tie did not last long in the second half, however, as Lamm struck again just two minutes into the second frame. Freshman Kelsey Yoder (Canby, Ore.) found Lamm open in front of the net on a corner kick and Lamm connected for her team-leading 15th goal of the season. It also proved to be her fifth game-winning goal of the season. She now ranks second in the ODAC in that category.

Six minutes later, Lamm and Yoder switched places to combine for a goal. Lamm took a free kick 25 yards out that she pushed forward and to the right where she found Yoder open for her fourth goal of the season. For the final goal, Lamm sent a shot from the left side that EHC goalkeeper Meredith Ledford (Chattanooga, Tenn.) deflected right to sophomore Aubrey Bauman (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), who sent it in for the Lady Royals.

Shaiebly finished with two saves for the day while Ledford, a sophomore, collected 13 saves for the Wasps. EMU led in shots 25-8 and corner kicks 5-0. Emory & Henry committed 12 fouls compared to seven for Eastern Mennonite. EMU also had five offsides infractions.

EMU plays its home finale on Tuesday against the Generals of Washington and Lee University at 4 p.m. The Lady Royals will then advance to the ODAC Tournament on Saturday where they will either be the fourth or fifth seed.
