Junior forward Amanda Renalds scored a game-high 18 points in leading Eastern Mennonite University to a 56-49 victory over Lynchburg College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game on Saturday in Lynchburg, Va.

EMU (9-2, 5-1 ODAC) led 25-21 and pulled away from a 27-27 tie with 15:15 remaining to pick up the seven-point win over Lynchburg (6-5, 3-3 ODAC).

The Lady Royals shot 37.2% from the floor and connected on 2-of-8 three-point attempts. EMU benefited from 27 Lynchburg fouls, attempting 46 free throws in the game. However, the Lady Royals converted just 22 of those opportunities for 47.8% shooting from the charity stripe.

EMU had a strong defensive effort, holding LC to 27.9% shooting on field goal attempts. The Hornets were 5-of-18 on three-pointers and went to the free throw line 15 times, converting 10 free throw opportunities.

Renalds, in addition to her 18 points, also had nine rebounds, two assists, one block, and three steals. Senior center Regina Sours added 11 points and four rebounds for EMU. Junior forward Stephanie Mathews had seven points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Freshman guard Dana Powell had nine points and three steals.

Junior forward Lacey Currle led Lynchburg with 17 points and five rebounds. Sophomore center Caroline Wesley added nine points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Whitney Dix contributed nine points off the bench for the Hornets.

EMU will remain in the Lynchburg area for its next contest on Sunday against Randolph-Macon Woman's College at 3 p.m.
