EMU Volleyball Loses Two Matches at Emory and Henry Tournament
The Eastern Mennonite University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Friday night in the opening night of competition in the Emory and Henry Tournament in Emory, Va. The Lady Royals lost the first match to Emory and Henry 3-1 and the second match to Southern Virginia 3-0.
In the first match of the evening, the Lady Royals lost by game scores of 30-26, 15-30, 22-30, and 14-30. Senior Becky Langstraat (Corvallis, Ore.) led the way with 11 kills for EMU. Freshman Courtney Miller (Harrisonburg, Va.) contributed eight kills while sophomore Lisa Berry (Dalton, Ohio) and freshman Amanda Morris (Waynesboro, Va.) had eight and five respectively.
EMU dropped the second match by game scores of 23-30, 23-30, and 15-30. Berry had seven kills for the Lady Royals. Langstraat and Morris had six apiece.
Eastern Mennonite continues in the Emory and Henry Tournament on Saturday with matches against Mt. Mercy and Bridgewater.
