Lady Royals Women's Soccer Loses at Roanoke

Four different players scored goals as Roanoke College defeated Eastern Mennonite University 4-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Soccer action on Saturday, September 18 in Roanoke, Va.

Roanoke (5-1, 1-0) scored what proved to be the game-winner just 1:11 into the contest on an unassisted goal by Jill Hoffmeister. Roanoke struck twice more in the first half with a goal by Emily Ocheltree at the 4:09 mark and one by Erica Hammarlund at the 24:59 mark. Tiffany Gruschow closed out the scoring at the 65:54 mark with an assist from Hoffmeister.

EMU (2-4, 1-1) goalkeeper sophomore Joy Shaiebly stopped nine shots in goal. Roanoke led EMU in shots 21-7 and had six corners to just one for EMU.

The Lady Royals will host Christopher Newport Wednesday, September 22 in a non-conference battle at 4:00 p.m.
