Sager Ties a Career High with 29 Points and Leads EMU over Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. - Jason Sager (Edinburg, Va./Central) would tie a career high with 29 points to lead EMU past Roanoke College in overtime 82-75 Wednesday night. The win gives the Royals a final record of 6-19 overall and 4-14 in the ODAC.

EMU would shoot only 32% from the floor in the first half and went into the locker room down 31-27. The Royals would rally back in the second half behind the play of Sager as well as senior guard Mike Culen (Winchester, Va./James Wood) and local product Jeremy Newman (Roanoke, Va./Northside). Culen would pour in 16 points while Newman would add another 15 points and three assists.

Along with a career high 29 points on 10 of 13 shooting, Sager would add 13 rebounds and three assists. Freshman center Jason Lentz (Diana, W.V/Webster Co.) would chip in another four points and 10 rebounds for EMU.
