EMU Women Defeat Shenandoah 61-48

Junior forward Amanda Renalds scored 21 points to lead Eastern Mennonite University to a 61-48 victory over Shenandoah University on Saturday in Winchester, Va.
EMU (5-0) trailed 28-27 at halftime and 44-43 with 9:26 remaining, but the Lady Royals went on a 14-2 run over the next four minutes to take a 57-46 lead over Shenandoah (1-4).
The game was scoreless over the next four minutes with the Hornets pulling within nine with 1:30 remaining, but the Lady Royals sank four of seven free throws to seal the 13-point victory.
Renalds also had seven rebounds in addition to her 21-point effort. Junior guard Laura Ludholtz had nine points, eight rebounds, six assists, one block, and two steals. Junior forward Stephanie Mathews pulled 12 rebounds and also had three assists and four steals.
The Hornets were led by Neagia Foreman's team-high 16 points while two other players turned in double-doubles. Cassie Womack scored 12 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Joia Davis scored 10 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out three assists, blocked four shots, and had two steals.
The Lady Royals will travel to Lexington, Va. on Tuesday to face Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Washington and Lee at 7 p.m.
