Lady Royals rallied back from a ten point deficit at half to defeat Roanoke College

ROANOKE, Va. – The EMU Lady Royals rallied from a ten point deficit at the half to defeat Roanoke College by a score of 61-54 in their first ODAC match-up Tuesday night. With the win EMU improves to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the ODAC.

The Lady Royals were unable to get anything started in the first half against Roanoke College. Lindsay Reynolds and Annie Roehm led the way for the Maroons with 10 points each while Chandra Forrester added six points and 10 boards.

EMU would come storming back in the second half after being down 31-21. Carrie Grandstaff (Luray, Va./Mt. Carmel Christian) led all scorers with 19 points while adding six boards. Laura Ludholtz (Mt. Crawford, Va./Fort Defiance) added 12 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Stephanie Mathews (Woodstock, Va./Central) and Amanda Renalds (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby) also scored in double figures for EMU.

EMU shot 50% from the floor in the second half compared to 33% from Roanoke.

The Lady Royals will be back in action on Friday, December 5 against Hollins University. Game time is set for 7 pm.
