LYNCHBURG, VA – Abby Johnson (Davidsonville, MD/South River) made her first career goal count, as the senior defender scored the game's only tally to lead the Lynchburg College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win Wednesday over visiting Eastern Mennonite University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.

The game was scoreless at halftime. The Hornets were awarded a corner kick midway through the second half, and Johnson headed in the corner pass from fellow senior Sherry Olsen (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) at the 64:55 mark. Junior Katie DeLorenzo (Mountain Lakes, NJ/Morris Catholic) recorded the shut out by making seven saves.

LC (13-3-2/9-1 ODAC) out shot the Royals 16-9 and held an 8-1 edge in corner kicks. Joy Shaiebly made three saves for Eastern Mennonite (8-6/6-3 ODAC).
