Lady Royals drop contest to Emory & Henry at home. The Wasps won 30-24, 30-28, 22-30, 21-30, 17-15

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Lady Royals women's volleyball team took the Emory & Henry Wasp into a tight five-game battle only to have the Wasp emerge victorious.

Emory & Henry (10-4, 2-2) took the first two games 30-24 and 30-28. Emily Myers was instrumental in the first two games as she ended the day with a team-high 14 kills and 28 assists.

The Lady Royals (4-11, 1-3) then bounced back to take games three and four by scores of 30-22 and 30-21, respectively. Stephanie Miller (Hartville, Oh./Central Christian) orchestrated her offense in both games helping EMU get back into the match. Miller recorded 39 assists.

EMU gave Emory & Henry a run for their money in the fifth and decisive game. After trailing 13-9, Miller's serving brought EMU back with four services aces and a side out. Emory & Henry won the game 17-15.

EMU will return home Tuesday, October 1 to host Bridgewater in conference action. Match time is slated for 6:30 p.m.
