Women's volleyball wins against Shenandoah but dropped contest against Messiah in tri-match. Langstr
HARRISONBURG, Va. – The women's volleyball team split today's tri-match with Messiah and Shenandoah. The Lady Royals won in three straight games against Shenandoah and lost in three to Messiah.
EMU (3-9) defeated the Hornets by scores of 30-18, 30-25, 20-26. Becky Langstraat (Corvalis, Ore./Corvalis) and Jill Stoltzfus (Parnell, Ia./Iowa Mennonite) each tallied 13 kills. Stephanie Miller led EMU with eight service aces, 14 digs, and 27 assists.
Messiah proved to be too much for the Lady Royals winning in the three games 30-22, 30-23, and 30-17. Langstraat again led EMU with eight kills. Miller collected 18 digs and 13 assists.
Action resumes for EMU on the road Tuesday, September 17 at Lynchburg College. Match begins at 6:30 p.m. The Lady Royals will be back in action at home on Saturday, September 21 hosting the Generals form Washington and Lee.
