LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg Senior forward Nikki Wisniewski (Berlin, NJ/Bishop Eustace) broke a scoreless tie early in the second half as the Lynchburg College women's soccer team defeated Eastern Mennonite University Saturday, 1-0 in a first-round Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game.

Wisniewski was awarded a free kick at the 46:45 mark of the contest and found the back of the net, unassisted. Hornet goalie Erin Johnson (Davidsonville, MD/South River) made three saves to preserve the shutout. LC outshot EMU 23-12 and held a 5-4 edge in penalty kicks. Rochelle Yoder made five saves for the Royals (12-4-3).

The Hornets will face host Roanoke College Friday in the semifinal round at a time to be determined. The winner advances to the ODAC Final on Saturday. Lynchburg has captured the last three ODAC titles.
