HARRISONBURG, Va. – EMU Athletics announced today that Andrew Stoddard, Athletic Communication Specialist, is stepping down from his role.
"I want to thank Director of Athletics
Carrie Bert, Director of Athletics Communications and Advertising Justin McIlwee, and all of the coaches, staff and, most importantly, the student-athletes of EMU Athletics for a great three-plus years on campus in Harrisonburg," Stoddard said. "I am incredibly grateful for everything I've been able to learn and experience at EMU and all of the awesome people that I have gotten to work with throughout my time here. Stoddard began his career at EMU in July, 2023 after graduating from VCU's Master's of Sport Leadership program while also working as graduate assistant for the athletic communication office. His time with the Rams saw him work with cross country, track & field and men's soccer.
"Andrew has made an indelible mark on the athletic communications office, and EMU Athletics, as a whole," said Director of Athletic Communications Justin McIlwee. "As the first ever Athletic Communication Specialist at EMU, he worked countless hours behind the scenes to ensure our student-athletes received the recognition they deserved. We will miss his energy and enthusiasm for the position, as well as his dedication to our student-athletes."
Stoddard's last day with the Royals will be on Nov. 15 and then he will begin as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Virginia Military Institute on Monday, Nov. 16.
