Yoder Arena

Completed in fall 2000, EMU's University Commons provides state-of-the-art athletic facilities as well as a community gathering place. North Commons houses University Admissions and the Royals' Den snack shop. It also houses the Student Life and Health & Wellness suites.

In fall 2022, North Commons debuted a student union and Common Grounds Coffeehouse, both of which can be found on the second floor.

Housed in University Commons, Yoder Arena, home to the EMU men's and women's volleyball teams, as well as the men's and women's basketball teams, is spacious enough to accommodate four full-court basketball courts and holds 1,800 fans at capacity. Dividers allow for team practices to overlap with recreational sports activities and other events.

Also found in University Commons is the only indoor pole vaulting pit in the region, a rock climbing wall and indoor batting cages.
