Mast Earns ODAC Honors After Second Race

As if she isn't having enough excitement in her first and only year of competitive running, EMU's Michaela Mast (Broadway, Va./Eastern Mennonite) earned ODAC Runner of the Week honors after only her second race.

Mast, who just joined the Royals' cross country program before her senior season, has been the top D-III finisher at both of her races this fall. After leading the field at the JMU Invitational last Saturday, Mast was given the weekly honor from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference office.

She crossed the 5.2k course in 20:51, leading the nearest D-III runner by six seconds. In her first race the previous week, Mast won by more than 37 seconds over the runner-up. Eastern Mennonite's women have easily claimed the team title at both events.

The Royals have a few weeks off before their next race, the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa., on Sept. 29.
