Carrie Bert enters her second season as an assistant in 2011. She is also the recruiting coordinator for the women's volleyball program.

She was a four-year starter on EMU's volleyball team during her playing days and was happy to join the coaching staff when she and her husband, Daryl, moved back to Harrisonburg in 2010. (Daryl, EMU's Vice President for Finance, is a member of the school's Hall of Honor for his playing days in men's volleyball.)

"It is exciting to watch players develop both on and off the court," Carrie says. "It is rewarding to see teams come together for a love of the game, each other, and completion of goals."

Carrie and Daryl live in Harrisonburg with their three children: Evan, Davis and Maren.
