Randolph-Macon Sweeps Women In Ashland

Kyla Moorefield led all players with three solo blocks against R-MC.

The Eastern Mennonite women's volleyball team hit the road Wednesday to take on Randolph-Macon in Ashland, VA.  The Yellow Jackets entered as one of two teams still without a loss in ODAC play, and they ended the contest the same way, sweeping the Lady Royals.

EMU faired best in game one, dropping a 25-18 score.  The final two saw identical scores of 25-14.

Middle blocker Kyla Moorefield (Danville, VA/Tunstall) had four kills and three solo blocks to lead the way.  Tabitha Bowman (Waynesboro, VA/Stuarts Draft) and Sara Ritchie (Harrisonburg, VA/Turner Ashby) each added four kills.

Setter Mattie Lehman (New Paris, IN/Bethany Christian) had 15 assists and two service aces.  Brittany Childress (Gloucester, VA/Christchurch) and Jessica Goertzen (Goessel, KS/Goessel) each had seven digs.

The loss drops the Lady Royals to 5-14 overall and 0-6 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  The women are on the road this weekend for two important matches, playing at Guilford Saturday afternoon and Emory & Henry on Sunday.
