Eastern Mennonite University has announced the cancelation of Wednesday's women's soccer game at Hampton University. No makeup date is expected.

With the forecast for significant rain in the Hampton area on Wednesday, along with HU's low-lying grass playing field, the teams decided to call the game off.

The Royals, who beat the fledgling D-I program last year in Harrisonburg, are coming off a thrilling 1-0 overtime win over Ferrum on Sunday. EMU's women travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., this weekend for the Salem College Invitational. The women will play a pair of USA South teams: Agnes Scott on Saturday and Salem on Sunday. The host Spirits finished 18-2-1 last fall and lost in the USA South title game.

The Royals are 1-0-1 heading into the weekend.
