Title: Assistant Track & Field Coach

Sam Woody joins the track & field staff this year to assist with the throwers.  He is also an assistant coach on the EMU men's soccer team and was the head coach of the EMU women's program for three years before it transitioned to varsity status in 1999.

Woody has coaching experience at the USSF B Level and 30 years mentoring from the high school to professional ranks.  He stops include Vero Beach High School, Guilford College and the University of Virginia.

In 1996, he was the Strength Conditioning Coach and Keeper Coach for D.C. United in the MLS.  He also held the same roles with the U.S. Men's Olympic Soccer Team.

He and his wife, Betsy, live in Elkton, VA, with their son, Michael.
