ODAC Names Augsburger To Third Straight All-ODAC First Team

Senior Emily Augsburger (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) has earned her third straight All-ODAC First Team award, as the league office announced the conference awards today. Augsburger is the first Eastern Mennonite field hockey player with back-to-back-to-back First Team medals since Alyssa Derstine finished her career in 2009.

Claiming a spot in the midfield after two years as a defender, Augsburger had one of her best seasons. She set or tied career highs with seven goals and four assists, and was second on the team with her 18 points. Augsburger caged game-winners against Ferrum and Hendrix, scoring against Hendrix with just 1:27 remaining to forge a 4-3 win. She also tied for the ODAC lead with three penalty strokes and was the only player among those leaders to convert every stroke attempt.

Augsburger started all 68 games she played at EMU, finishing with 17 goals and 12 assists. Also a two-time VaSID All-State First Team honoree, she was selected to play in the NFHCA D-III Senior Game later this month.

The Royals finished with a record of 5-12 under first-year coach Ashley Kisner.
