Phil Guengerich is in his 11th year working in Athletic Events. Prior to beginning this position in 2000, Phil worked for 30 years as a fifth-grade teacher at Linville-Edom Elementary School.

Phil attended Eastern Mennonite College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970. He played soccer in 1966 and 1967. Phil has a wife, Susan, and three grown children.

A benefit of Phil’s job that he enjoys is his friendships with EMU students. He also enjoys sports, gardening, and making doughnuts and homemade bread. His favorite quote is “If you are going to do something, give it your best effort.”
